Experience
I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist for the past 5 years in both the charity sector and in enhanced primary care in the NHS. Before solely concentrating on psychotherapy, I have experience within both the education and corporate sectors. I believe having a wide range of life experiences supports me to be a more rounded person and to be a more effective therapist.
My experiences have given me a particular interest in how the work-place effects a person’s wellbeing, how issues in relationships can be difficult, as well has how trauma impacts people over time.
I offer both short-term counselling, where we can work through a specific problem and longer-term psychotherapy where deeper issues can be explored.
As part of working ethically we would regularly review progress to make sure your needs are being met.
Further Training & CPD
My main focus last year (2023) was completing my Supervision Training. Going forward for 2024 I plan to continue to expand my expertise in working with trauma, as well as focusing on relationships. As part of my membership to an ethical body I undertake at least 50 hours a year of CPD.
Insurance/DBS
I am fully insured to practice as a psychotherapist and counsellor and am subscribed to the Disclosure and Barring Updates service.
Ethical Working
The UKCP maintains a clinical register of all psychotherapists and counsellors who have undergone the required rigorous training to meet their standards of proficiency to practice safely and ethically.
I hold full clinical membership for the following:
- UKCP: Registered Clinical Member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
- HIPC: Registered Clinical Member of the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College.
- SPTI: Graduate Member of the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute
I practice in accordance with their ethical frameworks which are designed to ensure the welfare of you as a client.
